As an EMT and Registered Medical Assistant (AMT), it has always been important to me to be an advocate for patients. As a patient you have the right to quality compassionate patient care, regardless of your insurance or financial status. You have the right to reasonably direct that care, in-full or in-part, without it impacting the quality of your care. You have the right of informed consent. Many believe that should include what your costs are estimated to be. Know your patient rights. Don't be afraid to assert yourself, especially if you feel uncomfortable or unsure. -Christina Sibley
